Squirrel Monkeys

We wrote expository stories essays in class. Please read mine about squirrel monkeys

Squirrel Monkeys

What’s that! It’s a bird, a plane, superman?  No that is a squirrel monkey from Costa Rica , he’s soaring through the sky . These energetic creatures are full of personality. Now you’ll learn about them in these next three paragraphs. Please enjoy!
Squirrel monkeys appearances show their personalities, cute and small! Squirrel monkeys, or samiri sciureus, generally weigh one to three pounds and are nine to nineteen inches long. Their plush tails are about nineteen inches long; wow almost the size of their body! They are all covered in light and dark brown short hair fur coats. Discovery led people to think squirrel monkeys are mammals.
These species have many qualities which makes them a part of the mammal family. Due to the fact that squirrel monkeys are mammals they breathe through lungs and their noses. They also give birth to live young or infants. When they give birth, they usually have 1-4 infants. Female squirrel monkey’s pregnancy length is 60- 90 days! Squirrel monkeys are also vertebrates, wow, just like humans! They’re also warm blooded species. Now that you know about the classification of a squirrel monkey, I’ll tell you about their habitat.
Did you know squirrel monkey lives in forest in South America.  The squirrel monkey tends to live in tree tops close to rivers or streams in rainforests. Most live in giant pin oak trees to show off their skill, which is soaring from tree to tree! They also travel in large groups so there is no monkey left behind. In this form, infants are put in the middle for their safety. Speaking of protection, I bet you weren’t aware how the squirrel monkey protects itself. They’ll use their strong voice to warn the predators, and then climb high in the canopy, and finally attack in groups. When they attack, they are very fierce and territorial, so don’t threaten a squirrel monkey! That is how a squirrel monkey lives and survives.
These squirrel monkeys are energetic creatures. They’re full of personality and fun! Hopefully someday citizens will realize what cutting down trees in the forest isn’t as good as they think.
