The Black Hills Ring
Deep in my parents drawer,
There is a ring.
Not just any ring,
But my great, great, great grandparent’s ring.
Passed down for more than a century,
Generation to generation.
Gold, with black and brown leaves,
Oh so valuable, not only to me, but my family.
Introduced from the Black Hills blacksmiths,
Carried to Ireland and Germany, on to America.
If you observe it closely, you’ll find,
Something cool enough to blow your mind
